Beginning midweek last week, everyone was abuzz with upcoming snow. Well, it snowed and continues to snow. By the end of it all I think we should be around 6 inches, which can't compare to some of the huge storms from my childhood, but for Tabitha and Imogen, this is about as big as it gets. Snow days still get me excited but I no longer get to skip school, and my teleworking continues to telework even as offices are closed. There is just residual excitement from school and pre-telework days that remains. Josie got to experience it at her non-telework work Friday afternoon, where the mere threat of a dusting made her work close early, and apparently, her coworkers were singing and dancing.
I took Frederick out for her walk this morning and the snow was light and powdery (people love to discuss the consistency of snow), and she seemed to enjoy it. After we got back she whined like only Freddie can, wanting to go back out. It's definitely fun to walk through clean, untouched snow. Hopefully, shoveling won't be too bad, but I will make it one of my mini workouts for the day, and Imogen claims she will help.
Over the weekend Dave and Emmy had their annual Orthodox Armenian Christmas party, which is always nice after the usual holidays. It was nice seeing Dan and Laura, who I see probably twice a year these days. The kids ate way too many desserts, and Imogen got into some sort of gymnastics show off competition with a boy at the party. Josie made orange madeleines and they were really good and very orangey.
